At Underwater Adventures, we can be your gateway to this underwater world.  We specialize in introducing new divers to the wonders of scuba, and we take the time to make sure you are comfortable every step of the way.  We offer PADI educational programs – the largest and most recognized certification courses in the world.  All levels of instruction are available for the recreational diver from entry level through professional certifications.  See the wide variety of courses for both new divers and those already certified.  The classroom portion of the courses typically is done in our comfortable classroom area at the store, and the skills instruction is done at one of the local pool facilities.

Entry Level/Review

Open Water Diver Class
This is the entry level scuba diving course and our most popular class.  In fact, the PADI Open Water Diver course is the most requested diving class in the world.  Upon successful completion of the program you will be certified to dive anywhere in the world.  There are three components to the program: (click here to download our class brochure)

Academic – combination of independent study and classroom review
Pool Sessions – practice and learn diving skills at a local pool
Open Water Training – demonstrate the skills and explore diving in a controlled open water environment (lake or quarry).  If you prefer to complete your open water training while on vacation, we can write a referral to the dive resort at your destination.

The course typically consists of four combined classroom/pool sessions. 
The Open Water Training consists of four dives over two days.  There are a number of options and flexibility for scheduling classes.  We can arrange classes to fit your schedule or to meet a deadline for your trip or vacation.

Scuba Review Refresher Class
Are you a certified scuba diver, but it’s been a while since you’ve been in the water and you’d like to get some practice in before an upcoming trip? Our Scuba Review Refresher Class is the perfect solution. In this pool session we get you familiar with the equipment once again, practice skills and techniques, and spend time on any aspect of the experience you would like so that you are comfortable and confident before your vacation.

Snorkeling Adventure Class
This class is popular with families preparing to go on a warm weather vacation.  It includes a review of the equipment and proper fit to ensure that your snorkeling experience is great. This class gets everyone comfortable snorkeling here so that you can jump right in and enjoy the water when you are on vacation.  We make this class fun!

Discover Scuba Diving
Want to try scuba diving and see how you like it?  Sign up for one of our group Discover Scuba Diving sessions.  In addition to learning basic skills and getting familiar with the equipment, we have lots of fun with games and contests in a relaxed, fun, and safe environment.
Minimum age: 10 years.


Next Level/Specialty

Advanced Open Water
This course is perfect for the certified diver to gain additional experience in different types of diving.  It consists of five different dives over two days.  It includes a deep dive, a navigation dive, and three additional dives that you choose based on your interests, all under the supervision of a dive instructor who can help you take your diving to the next level.

Peak Performance Buoyancy
Managing your buoyancy underwater is one of the most important skills to master to become a good diver.  This class looks at every aspect of buoyancy from proper weight position and distribution to streamlining your movements underwater. We also include a good dose of fun.

Enriched Air Nitrox
Longer bottom times.  Additional safety margin to help avoid decompression sickness.  Less fatigue after a dive.  There are a number of advantages to enriched air diving (using an air mixture with a greater oxygen content).  After taking this class you will become a certified enriched air diver and will be able to use your card to take advantage of the benefits of nitrox.  The class takes place over two evenings.

Digital Underwater Photography
Have you always wanted to capture some of the beautiful images you’ve seen underwater?  The Digital Underwater Photography course teaches you how to take great pictures using the PADI SEA method (Shoot, Examine, Adjust).  The class will cover techniques to help you get the most out of your underwater photography, including proper camera settings, attractive composition, and maintenance and care of the camera and housing.  A camera is provided if you do not own an underwater camera.

Underwater Navigation
It’s easy to get disoriented underwater, but with the right navigation skills, you can be the one your group follows back to the boat.  In this specialty course you learn the tools of the trade, including navigation via natural clues and by compass. You learn to estimate distance underwater and follow navigation patterns to get to your destination and back accurately and safely.

Search and Recovery
If you’re looking for the challenge and excitement then the PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course is for you. It gives you the skills you need to find what’s been lost, and get it to the surface. You will learn search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems. You learn how to locate large and small objects using search patterns, and various ways for lifting them to the surface. These skills will make you more capable and confident in the water.

Coral Reef Conservation
This specialty course is for divers and non-divers alike and includes the vital role coral reefs play in the marine environment and the world as a whole.  Through a colorful slide presentation and interactive discussion, learn some amazing facts about these beautiful and important ecosystems and what is being done to protect them.

Equipment Specialist
Learn how to protect and maintain your dive gear with this helpful class.  The class will cover the essentials of maintenance, care, adjustments that you can use every day, and you will get valuable information on equipment repair and considerations when making a purchase.


Advanced/Professional

Rescue Diver
The PADI Rescue Diver course is the foundation for leadership level training and is an excellent way to develop your diving skills as you prepare to help others.  A combination of classroom and open water training, the course focuses on a number of simulated dive accident scenarios to develop your rescue skills and techniques.  When you are done with this class, you will be a more confident, capable diver.

Divemaster
The PADI Divemaster program is the first step in joining the professional dive ranks.  As a divemaster, you will be able to assist in training others, lead certified divers, and conduct some programs independently.  Becoming a PADI professional is an incredibly rewarding achievement, and you will take pride in being able to assist in the training of others.  Many divemasters go on to become instructors, and the knowledge and skills you gain in this program

Safety Classes

CPR and First Aid
This class is a scenario-based CPR and First Aid program through the Emergency First Response program.  It is appropriate for divers or non-divers and is open to all age groups. The program takes place over two evenings.  A CPR-only class is available over one evening, and a program to treat children and infants is also available.

DAN Oxygen Provider
This is the most requested Divers Alert Network specialty class.  It provides hands-on training for a number of methods of oxygen administration.

DAN Advanced Oxygen Provider
Advanced oxygen administration techniques for those interested in continuing their dive safety education.

DAN Hazardous Marine Life Injuries
This popular specialty class covers treatments for a number of common marine life injuries that could be encountered during dive activities.

DAN AED for Divers
This class provides in-depth training on Automatic External Defibrillators to address diving related injuries.


Scuba Parties

Do you want to host a different kind of party? 
Schedule a Scuba Adventure Party to celebrate a birthday or other special event.  Everyone will have fun trying scuba diving out.  Guests will learn basic scuba skills and then have fun playing games and contests underwater.  It’s a unique opportunity to try scuba diving in a fun and safe environment.  The party is held at the pool of one of the local recreational facilities.  Minimum age is 10 years.
